About Bihak

Bihak center is a fruit of the conviction that many people are not aware of their capacity and/or have not demonstrated their capabilities because they lack skills, support, or an opportunity to showcase their potential.

About the founder

I am Jean Junior Niyonkuru, and I am an IT specialist who happened to work in one of the bests international humanitarian organizations, UNICEF.

I worked at UNICEF Congo for five years. First as their Youth advocate for technology and innovation, then as their Youth engagement officer and finally as the U-Report (A global youth participation and engagement initiative) manager.

You can see than every position I occupied was related to youth. From that experience, i learnt a lot but also felt challenged to do something for young people.

Bihak is built on the belief that every young man, young lady, has the potential to do achieve great things, they just need a chance, an opportunity.

I have met brilliant minds who have all the capabilities but are in lack of an opportunity to exhibit their potential. That’s why I created Bihak Center to train young people, to connect them to opportunities, and to create a network of changemakers.
