Growing up in Goma, a city shaped by both resilience and recurring crisis, I learned early that communication can save lives. This conviction led me to build a career at the intersection of technology, public health, and humanitarian action.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Information Technology from Institut Supérieur d'Informatique et de Gestion (ISIG) in Goma, complemented by a Professional Certificate in Public Relations from Oxford Home Study Centre. These two disciplines "tech and communication" became the twin engines of my professional journey.
Over the past five years, I have worked with UNICEF DRC as a National Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBC) Consultant, operating in Beni, Mutwanga, and Musienene during active health emergency responses. I also served as a UN Online Volunteer with UNDP DRC, where I managed institutional communications and social media outreach. These experiences taught me how to translate complex humanitarian messages into content that resonates with local communities in Swahili, French, and Lingala.
I wanna found Sauti ya Afya, meaning "Voice of Health" in Swahili, a community digital health initiative serving East and Central Africa. Through this platform, I want to democratize access to health information in underserved and conflict-affected communities.
My challenges have been real: working in one of the world's most complex humanitarian contexts, navigating displacement crises, Ebola outbreaks, and armed conflict while trying to maintain consistent, impactful programming. Yet these challenges have sharpened my purpose. I am a YALI Regional Leadership Centre Alumnus (Nairobi, Kenya and Dakar,Senegal) and a UNHCR Young Champion for Refugees, recognitions that affirm my commitment to youth leadership and forced displacement issues.
Today, I am pursuing advanced opportunities in international humanitarian communications, continuous learning in data analysis and MEAL, Accountability to Affected People (AAP) and broader collaboration across Africa's development ecosystem. I believe that every crisis-affected community deserves a voice, and I have dedicated my career to making that possible.
My Story
My Goals
Short-term: Strengthen my expertise in data-driven communication (Power BI, DHIS2, MEAL frameworks) and secure a senior humanitarian communications role with an international organization operating in eastern or central Africa.
Long-term: Lead regional communication and community engagement strategies at the UN or INGO level that measurably shift behaviours and improve health and protection outcomes for conflict-affected populations across Africa.
